My name is John Hoffman, and I am a two-time liver transplant recipient.
I was diagnosed with biliary atresia as a baby, and was transplanted at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh on January 14, 1983 when I was just 13 months old, by the great Thomas Starzl.
Due to the experimental nature of my first transplant, and my small size, it became a possibility in my teens that I would need a second transplant.
I was put on the list again when I was 15, and transplanted on July 1, 1999 again at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
I now live in CT with my wife and three kids. In my spare time, I enjoy chasing the kids around outside, eating out at restaurants, and travelling.
